RESTRICTED CABIN LUGGAGE
There are restrictions on what you can take in your cabin baggage and hold luggage for flights departing from UK and Channel Island airports. For more information please see the UK Government website on Hand luggage restrictions.
LIQUIDS IN YOUR CABIN BAGGAGE
These must all fit into a single transparent plastic bag which is resealable and measures approximately 20 x 20cm, (similar to a sandwich or freezer bag)
The contents must fit comfortably in the plastic bag so it can be easily sealed
An individual container within the bag must hold no more than 100ml of liquid
Each passenger is limited to 1 plastic bag
You must present your plastic bag at the airport security
LIQUIDS INCLUDE
All drinks including water
Liquid or semi-liquid foods including honey, jams and soup
Cosmetics and toiletries including creams, lotions, oils, perfumes, mascara and lip gloss
Perfumes, hairsprays and deodorants
Toothpaste, hair and shower gel
Contact lens solutions
EXCEPTIONS - BABY MILK AND BABY FOOD
When travelling with a baby you can carry baby food, baby milk and sterilised water for the flight and you are not restricted to 100ml limit. You can also carry breast milk in cabin baggage even when the baby is not travelling. Items may be opened as part of the screening process by airport security.
EXCEPTIONS - ESSENTIAL MEDICINES
You may carry certain items of essential medicines and equipment in your cabin baggage provided you have supporting documentation such as a doctors letter or prescription.
WORK TOOLS
Work tools are not permitted in the cabin and must be checked in as hold luggage, items may include (but not limited to):
Chisel
Saws
Knifes
Hammer
Pliers
Spanner
Crowbar
Drill and drill bits, including cordless power drills
SHARP OBJECTS
Objects with a sharp edge or point are not permitted in cabin baggage, these include:
Corkscrew
Knife
Scissors
Arrows, darts or swords
Items that may be carried in cabin baggage include:
Umbrella
Walking stick / cane / aid
Blunt objects
Blunt objects that could cause harm are not permitted to be carried in cabin baggage, these may include:
Baseball, softball and cricket bats
Clubs and batons
Martial arts equipment
Toy guns or similar
